Why a black and white photography site on Como Lake?
Because Como Lake is not just parties, pop music and movie stars, fashion designers, international business conferences and all the colorful VIPs circus.
Because its beauty can be contemplated in depth only by removing the colors, noises and any distraction of contemporary life.
Because I was born here, my father was born here, my grandfather was born here, my great-grandfather was born here and so going back for a number of generations that I can’t count.
Because I left, I traveled a piece of the world, but in the end this is the only place I call “home”.
For the women and men who in this city and these villages, on this water and in the mountains, fought, worked, loved, procreated, carrying out their personal vision of God’s work with determination and humility.
Because their hopes, their disappointments, their joys, their pains, their virtues, their sins, their lives, do not deserve to be forgotten.
For myself, because trying to visually represent the soul of these places, I can finally find my soul and understand what the hell I’m doing here.
And finally for you too. Because my personal vision of these places can tell you some stories, make you feel new emotions and make you want to visit this land enjoying all its beauty.
